🔹 Core Responsibilities – OR / Circulating RN

1. Patient Care & Assessment

• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical exams, and diagnostic data
• Deliver nursing care aligned with the Plan of Care and physician orders

2. Operating Room Preparation

• Prepare and set up the operating room for procedures
• Position and prep patients safely on the operating table
• Follow and verify Safe Surgery Checklist protocols

3. Intraoperative Support

• Perform circulating duties efficiently during procedures
• Assist within or outside the sterile field as assigned
• Ensure proper use of safety and infection control measures

4. Team Coordination & Leadership

• Delegate, supervise, and support team members
• Act quickly in urgent or emergent situations
• Serve as communication liaison between surgical team and patient families

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Accurately document patient care in a timely manner
• Maintain compliance with hospital standards and protocols

6. Equipment & Supply Management

• Manage, maintain, and ensure availability of surgical supplies and equipment

7. Professional Standards & Growth

• Maintain professional behavior and strong patient/customer relations
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development

8. Operational Support

• Contribute to smooth daily department operations
• Participate in on-call schedules as required

9. Technical Skills

• Utilize computer systems and programs for patient care documentation and coordination
