Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 4x12 hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7 on MedSurg unit
• Unit Type: High volume MedSurg unit with 26 beds caring primarily for CHF patients, acute MI's, post device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmias. Also includes a 51-bed general surgery unit with colorectal, ostomies, plastic/cosmetic, breast procedures, and reconstruction surgeries.
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• First Time Travelers: Accepted
• Locals: Not accepted (must live more than 75 miles away)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract, including but not limited to:

• Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
• Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Verification

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification from primary source required
• Transcript/diploma may be required if education verification is not on file
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Work history verification required (at least 2 past employments)
• References required for some candidates (2 references within 3 years)

Additional Notes

• Floating between units is mandatory
• High patient volume and acuity
• Must be able to work nights and every other weekend
• Candidates must be able to travel and live more than 75 miles from the facility
