We are seeking an experienced ICU / Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading acute care facility in North Carolina. This is a high-acuity unit that operates similarly to an ICU, requiring strong clinical and critical care skills.
π Assignment Details
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Nights (3x12s) β 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Hours: 36β48 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to sister ICCU unit
- Schedule: Manager-created (No block scheduling)

- ICU Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:3β4
- Daily Census: ~18 patients
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- High-acuity cases including:
- Respiratory distress
- Hemodynamic instability
- Post-operative patients (GYN, GI, neuro, ortho)
- GI bleeds, withdrawals, OB complications
π Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years ICU/Stepdown experience
- Strong drip experience (titration required)
- Experience with:
- Arterial lines
- Central & peripheral lines
- Blood product administration
- Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
- Rapid response/code teams
- Chest tubes, trachs, BiPAP/CPAP
- High-flow oxygen & airway management
π Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- NIHSS

- EMR: Epic (preferred)
- Equipment:
- Telemetry monitoring
- A-lines
- Chest tubes
- BiPAP/CPAP
- Tracheostomy care

- No RTO after booking (strict policy)
- Max 7 days RTO allowed (pre-approved only)
- Must pass EKG/telemetry testing prior to start
- Floating required based on unit needs
- No block scheduling allowed
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
