Radiation Therapist - Oncology (Days)
Location: Keene, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under the administrative direction of the Chief Therapist and clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist assists in the treatment and care of oncology patients. The role requires the ability to work independently and involves administering prescribed radiation treatments, preparing patients and equipment, assisting with simulations and medical examinations, performing equipment calibration, and maintaining detailed patient records.
Essential Functions
- Administer prescribed radiation treatments and monitor patients and equipment during therapy.
- Prepare patients, exam rooms, and equipment for treatment and simulations.
- Assist Radiation Oncologist with medical examinations and simulations.
- May inject dye or administer contrast media during simulations if properly trained.
- Perform necessary equipment calibration as prescribed by Radiation Safety Officer.
- Observe radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
- Record patient doses, document patient history and reactions, and report findings.
- Maintain accurate documentation, scheduling, consultation, and billing procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of current Radiation Therapy experience.
- Oncology experience required.
- Experience with VARIAN TRUEBEAM system required.
- Experience with ARIA (Treatment Record and Management) system required.
- Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
- New Hampshire Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License (or equivalent) required; must be willing to complete temporary license process if needed (including fingerprinting).
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment.
- Prior travel experience is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (local travelers not considered).

- All medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of offer acceptance.
- Scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; no scheduling changes will be approved after offer.
- Traveler must be pre-closed to this specific need before submission.
- Traveler’s permanent address and any requested time off must be included in the profile.
