Job Snapshot

• Specialty: Med-Surg / Telemetry Oncology
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (multiple cancer types)
• Contract Length: 112 weeks (⚠️ very long for travel—double-check this)
• Shift Options:
  • Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Rotating D/N possible

 Big Things to Know First

• Rotating shifts: You may not get consistent days or nights
• Ohio fingerprinting: Must be done immediately after signing or risk cancellation
• Strict compliance deadlines (Tuesday before start—no exceptions)
• No blocked scheduling (self-schedule but not guaranteed)
• Floating required to other oncology Med-Surg units

Core Responsibilities

You’ll be doing a mix of oncology + Med-Surg/Tele, including:

• Chemotherapy administration & monitoring
• Telemetry + dysrhythmia interpretation
• Infection prevention (heavy emphasis)
• Falls management
• Clinical trials participation
• Specialized care:
  • Brachytherapy
  • Neobladder care
  • CBI (continuous bladder irrigation)
• Central lines, blood products, IV therapy

• Feeding tubes, trachs, drains

   

   Skills You MUST Have

• Strong telemetry skills (this is not optional)
• Chemo experience (ONS cert preferred)
• Comfort with:
  • Tracheostomy care
  • PCA pumps
  • Epidurals
  • Foley/NG tubes
• EPIC charting experience required

 Requirements

• RN license (compact or Ohio in hand)
• 2+ years Med-Surg/Tele
• 1 year recent oncology experience (within last 3 years)

• BLS required
