Position Overview
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse provides high-level cardiovascular care in a fast-paced procedural environment supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role prepares patients for procedures, assists physicians during cardiac interventions, and monitors patients throughout the procedure to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
The Cath Lab RN works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver life-saving cardiac care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care.
Shift Details
- 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
- 4 ten-hour shifts per week
- Rotating call required

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures
- Administer medications and maintain IV access as required
- Provide patient education regarding procedures and recovery expectations
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure procedural safety standards
- Respond rapidly to patient needs in high-acuity situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care in electronic health record systems
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with BSN completion required within 5 years of hire
Experience
- Cath Lab experience required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cath Lab, Cardiac Unit, ER, ICU, PACU, or Progressive Care Unit
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Preferred Certifications
- Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (CV-BC) within 3 years of hire
- Specialty certifications such as CCRN or PCCN preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care responsibilities
- Proficiency with hospital information systems and clinical documentation tools
