Medical Laboratory Technologist  

Local/travel position 
Location: IHS facility in Pine Ridge, SD  

Pay Rate: $40 per hour plus $31.15 per hour for travel stipends if applicable  
Schedule: 40-45 hours per week including holidays and weekends 

Contract Length: 3 months with the option to extend  

Benefits:

Job Description: 

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join an IHS facility in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. This role supports critical diagnostic services through high-complexity laboratory testing, specimen processing, and patient interaction in a rural healthcare setting. 
Requirements: 

• Relevant clinical laboratory experience, at least 1 year.
• Phlebotomy experience required
• MT or MLT active certification
• Active BLS Certification
• Meet CLIA requirements for high-complexity testing personnel 

Responsibilities: 

• Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing
• Collect, label, process, and transport specimens accurately
• Ensure 98%+ accuracy in lab results and documentation
• Enter results into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Perform phlebotomy and patient interaction as needed
• Maintain quality control systems and lab equipment
• Support inpatient, outpatient, ER, and surgical departments
• Follow all CLIA, safety, and infection control standards
