Unit Profile

• Unit: Medical Surgical Unit (Med Surg Telemetry)
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Nights (7 AM – 7 PM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every Other / As Needed
• Call Requirements: As Needed
• Float Requirements: As Needed; may require travel within a 25-mile radius of the facility
• Number of Beds: 41
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Patient Population: All ages
• EHR System: Meditech

• Registered Nurse License (Virginia)
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIH Certification
• Handle with Care

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical specialty with Telemetry

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide nursing care for patients including post-op orthopedic procedures and total joint care
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Flexibility to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care
• Must be able to take appropriate action in patient care situations

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify as Travel
• Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
• Dress code: Scrubs required; no casual wear allowed

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Handle with Care certification
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
