Description

Registered Nurse - CVICU

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) with 6 weekends (both Saturday and Sunday) required during the contract
  • Holidays as needed
  • Float required as needed; all travelers may float between campuses
  • Patient population: Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU patients including MI, CHF, cardiac surgeries, post cardiac cath, LVAD, Impella, IABP, Arctic Sun, renal failure CRRT, respiratory failure, sepsis, open heart surgical patients, AAA repair, vascular surgeries, ECMO

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Medication Administration Badge (MAB)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing multi-system organ failure
  • Pulmonary artery line (Swan-Ganz) monitoring experience
  • Continuous venovenous hemofiltration/hemofiltration (CVVHA/CRRT) experience
  • Arterial line management
  • PICC line management
  • Continuous IV sedation management
  • High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
  • Ventilator management

Required Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina

Compliance & Testing Requirements

  • Pass/fail EKG/dysrhythmia exam required (2 attempts allowed, must score 82% or higher)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification required (Associate's degree in nursing or higher)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Fit mask test (N95) within current calendar year, updated annually
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • References: 2 supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Work history verification for last 5 years

Additional Notes

  • Zero tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling
  • Floating between campuses is mandatory for travelers
  • Candidates must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict guidelines prior to clearance
  • Orientation and onboarding tasks must be completed before arrival
  • Facility-specific policies and acknowledgements required (floating policy, contractor equipment, dress code, etc.)
