Position Summary

Pen Bay Hospital is seeking skilled and patient‑centered Registered Nurses to join our Med‑Surg unit. This team supports a 45‑bed floor caring for a broad mix of medical and surgical patients, including orthopedic, general surgery, urology, and occasional pediatric admissions (PALS required for pediatric assignments).

Openings are available on both day and night shifts.

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Openings: 3.3 FTE (Days) and 4.5 FTE (Nights)
• Shift: 06:45–19:15
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred
• Float Requirement: Yes

Education & Certifications

• Required: BLS and ACLS
• Preferred: PALS (required only if caring for pediatric patients)
• Training: Assigned LMS education modules

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 45
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 on days; 1:6 on nights
• Equipment Used: Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Philips cardiac monitor
• EMR: EPIC
