4x12's-48hrs-Days or Night
Department: CVU *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
# of Beds: 18 - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:3 for post surgical patients in the first 24 hours
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. Unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart. Cath Lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR and any other cardiac and vascular related diagnosis. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1 year of experience with this patient population - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and multiple other medications for blood pressure management - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - rare to take assignment
