Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to multitask efficiently, and the capacity to work independently while managing a wide range of acute and critical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care in emergency situations
• Provide direct patient care for a variety of cases including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and other emergent conditions
• Administer medications, start IV lines, and monitor patient responses to treatment
• Assist in emergency procedures and resuscitation efforts
• Operate and monitor emergency equipment, including defibrillators and cardiac monitors
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
• Adhere to core measures, National Patient Safety Goals, and quality standards
• Deliver excellent patient-centered care aligned with service excellence practices (e.g., AIDET)

Equipment & Systems:

• EMR: Meditech / EPIC
• Equipment: LifePak Defibrillators, Braun IV Pumps, Philips Monitoring Systems, Motorola Radio Systems

Schedule & Shifts:

• Variable 8- or 12-hour shifts
• Scheduled 80 hours per 2-week period
• One on-call shift per schedule rotation
• At least one weekend off per rotation
• Holiday coverage may be required

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific; must be obtained prior to start)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience
• Strong IV therapy and critical care skills
• Experience with stroke, STEMI, and trauma activations
• Knowledge of core measures and patient safety standards
• Ability to work independently in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment

Required Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred Certifications:

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
• Procedural Sedation certification

Additional Information:

• Floating may be required based on patient care needs and will be limited to units within the nurse’s competency
• Candidates must be available to meet pre-employment and onboarding requirements prior to assignment start
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, is essential
