Description
Physical Therapist (PT)
Direct Hire | Full‑Time | Day Shift
A healthcare organization in Tawas City, MI is seeking a Physical Therapist to join its rehabilitation services team. This position provides primarily outpatient physical therapy services, with some acute care coverage, and offers a predictable weekday schedule with no weekends and no holidays.
The Physical Therapist is responsible for patient‑centered care using assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and organizational policies.
Position Overview
- Permanent, full‑time direct‑hire role
- 1 Physical Therapist opening
- Day shift schedule
- Primarily outpatient care with some acute care coverage
- No weekends, no holidays
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Compensation & Incentives
- Starting rate: $37.00/hour (adjusted based on experience and internal equity)
- up to $20,000 sign‑on bonus
- 2‑year commitment required

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient function through formal and informal assessment methods.
- Develop individualized, goal‑specific treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient tolerance.
- Implement and adjust treatment plans in coordination with physician orders.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, prognosis, and treatment rationale.
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Therapy Aides, students, and support staff as applicable.
- Document patient progress, treatment outcomes, and plan of care changes per policy.
- Complete daily documentation required for billing and regulatory compliance.
- Recommend and assist with procurement of adaptive or supportive equipment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences.
- Promote quality improvement initiatives and assist with program development.
- Serve as case manager for assigned patients.
- Support education and professional development of staff and students.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physical Therapy
- Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of Michigan
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 1 month of hire)
- APTA membership preferred
Experience
- Any level of experience considered

Additional Requirements
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation (as applicable to patient care area)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills
- Competency with Microsoft® Windows–based systems
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
