EEG Technician
● About Facility:
o Address: 10628 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210
o Beds: 337
o Not Trauma Designated
o Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center
● Unit Information:
o Beds: N/A
▪ Census? Ave-rage patients/day? 5-8 patients per Tech per Day
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year minimum of acute care experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? If 3+ years' experience, will accept first time traveler. Otherwise, no.
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Pediatrics and adults
o Inpatient and outpatient
o Seizures, altered mental status, epilepsy, stroke, 24h EEG continuous, 24h-72h ambulatory EEG
● Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS
o REEGT cert from ABRET preferred but not required
● Skills required:
o Peds experience preferred
o Knowledge 10/20 placement, apply electrodes, recording/measuring, pattern recognition, set up of continual EEG, photic stimulation
o Other EEG Techs here until 1700, solo after that
● Support within the Department:
o Chief Tech available Monday – Friday
o RRT
o Hospitalists
o Rapid Response/Code Team
o Scheduler to schedule outpatients
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o Unit specific equipment: EEG machine – Natus
● Floating: If yes, where?
o Possibility to float to CMC Main (105-0105-37110) and CMC Mercy (105-0106-37110), both about 20 minutes away
o Would typically know in advance, rare to float
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o Up to 2-3 weeks of orientation, partnered with permanent staff member
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue top, Black bottoms
o Parking: Free, parking lot
