NURSE COORDINATOR - 148 Chestnut Street Ground Level Needham MA - MA LICENSE REQUIRED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION THIS IS A NURSE COORDINATOR POSITION FOR NEEDHAM CANCER CENTER - 8:30a-5pm Mon-Fri - The nurse coordinator position is in the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer center located in Needham. This is an ambulatory center where the coordinator supports medical oncology physicians and nurse practitioners. The role requires oncology experience, preferably outpatient oncology care coordination experience. The individual would help patients navigate their cancer journey, coordinate the start of treatment and evaluation by other specialties, perform telephone triage, tee up script renewals, ensure imaging follow up, and provide patient education. There is a phenomenal collaborative team here. Parking is free and there is a free shuttle service from the lot. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH: experience with making VNA/Hospice/DME referrals, coordinating referrals to other specialists, setting up imaging and IR procedures, and obtaining authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs2+ years of oncology experience required Must have: Phone Triage Skills Good communication skills Must be organized Traveler will be responsible for coordinating the patients care It is a clinic RN(RN with HemOnc exp) who works closely with a MD/Team and the pts. There is teaching, symptom management, and coordinating the pts apts—to make the pt experience better. This is someone that the pt can call when they have questions before they start their chemotherapy. The RN works in the clinic with the MD Must understand symptom management and good computer and telephone triage skills.
