JOB DESCRIPTION
Radiation Therapist
● About Facility: 10628 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210
o 337 licensed beds
o Not Trauma Designated
o Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center
o Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
● Department Information:
o Average patients/day: 70+ (2 Varian Truebeam treatment machines) – 35-40 per machine
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 3-4 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o All types of Cancer
o Inpatient (Heavy) and Outpatient population
o Travelers will not routinely work in CT Sim (highly unlikely)
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o BLS
o ARRT-T
● Skills required:
o Must be comfortable with Inpatient population
o Must be proficient in the use of Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators
o Familiarity with Aria encounters (strongly preferred) – let manager know
● Support within the Department:
o Leadership support
▪ On Site Manager
o Normally, 6-7 RTs will work per shift
▪ 3 Therapists per machine
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC/Aria
o Department specific Equipment: Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators
● Floating: If yes, where?
o May float to sister facilities – please decline if unwilling to float
▪ Travel distance for furthest location would be around 1 hour
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o 1 week
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Black
o Parking: Free
o Department Culture: Fast paced environment, teamwork oriented, remarkable Physicist and Provider team
