Job Title: RN - Operating Room

Location: Concord, NC 28025

Duration: 13 weeks

Licensed for 457 beds
Level 3 Trauma
Stroke center of Excellence
Bariatric center of Excellence
Chest Pain Center
 

Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
 

Department Information:
19 OR suites – 17 rooms are blocked
 

About Unit Designations:
Bariatric Center of Excellence
Advanced Spine Surgery Certification
Avg 50 Cases per day
Minimum Years of Experience required? 5 Years
Will you accept a first-time traveler? No
 

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Surgery specialties include, Trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, Robotics (we have three), General, HPB, Bariatrics, Urology, ENT, Eyes, Pain, Plastics
 

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
BLS
NC RN license
CNOR preferred but not required
 

Skills required:
Experience to circulate in the following cases: Trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, Robotics (we have three), General, HPB, Bariatrics, Urology, ENT, Eyes, Pain, Plastics.
OR RN for Night shift contract must have Charge RN experience and scrubbing proficiency, per the manager:
It would be helpful if the teammate can perform laparoscopic and open belly cases, ortho trauma, cysto, vascular, and robotics is a plus. If they are comfortable with some of this – we could look at them on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be flexible, self-driven and a motivated team player to be discerning and accommodating to case requests in the middle of the night.
 

Support within the Department:
Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, Tech Engineers.

NEO
2 days departmental


Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every 4th weekend
Weekend coverage could be in the form of call or a scheduled shift – depending on the need. Scheduled shifts are 7a-7p typically. Call is either 7a-7p or 7p-7a
Call required: Average of 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule
45-minute response time
11p-7a or 7a-7p/7p-7a on weekends
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
RTO: Manager approval
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
