Trauma Level: NA
Position Information:
• Facility Department/Cost Center: 473160580 - Detox Unit • Role (RN, Tech, LPN, PT, etc.): Travel RN • Specialty: MS-Detox; Experience with CIWA/COWS preferred • Number of Openings: 1 • Shift: See shift details. • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and as needed • Call Requirements: No call required • Required Certifications: BLS, ALS, PALS (Will need handle with care after hire) • Years of Experience: Preferred: 5+ years (3+ years will be acceptable) • Float Requirements: May be required to float to other departments as needed but not a standard
• Additional Notes: Education expectations are to be completed during contract, treating employees with respect and facility standards are expected to be followed through, required audits and processes are expected to be followed and completed, including bedside shift report, briefs, debriefs, and unit checks
Unit Information:
• Number of Beds: 13 • Patient Ratios: 1:7 • Equipment: IV pumps, zoll monitor, IV catheters • EHR: HMS/Medhost
• Supervisor: Christie Bass, Director and Randi Brady, CNC
• Patient Population e.g. geriatric, adult, peds, etc.: Ages 18 to Geriatric (We occasionally see 17 year old patients)
Hiring Profile:
• Must Have Skills/Experience: Patient care of all ages, bedside shift report, IV access, • Preferred Skillset/Experience: Assist with bedside procedures such as picc lines/midlines, CIWA/COWS • Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Substance abuse, polysubtance abuse, ETOH, underlying behavioral conditions, hypertension, syncope, seizures, liver disease, cognitive changes, high fall risk, etc. Treatments vary with use. We use valium tapers, subutex, vivitrol, banana bags, and rescue medications, early and one-time doses of medications, along with routine and home meds. • Personality Fit: Willing to learn, works as a team, supports current staff, respects department expectations, asks questions when uncertain, calm in chaotic situations, listens well, confident in clinical judgement, willing to help improve process not tear down, does not fall into gossip or drama, helps find solutions not create issues.
• Required Education: ASN at minimal; Licensure/certification required to work as an RN in TN.
Dress Code:
• Scrub Color: Any solid color. • Any unacceptable attire: outerwear with logos or prints not of hospital logo, hoodies, open toed shoes, tshirts except on specified days, no jewelry or items that can be pulled out, used to choke, or as a weapon, basic hospital requirements are expected and willing to adjust if anything is of concern.
