Travel Registered Nurse – Med‑Surg Detox

Southern TN Regional Health System – Pulaski, TN

Southern TN Regional Health System is seeking an experienced Travel RN to join its Med‑Surg Detox Unit. This is a great opportunity for a nurse who is confident managing medically complex detox patients while working in a supportive, team‑oriented environment.

Unit: Med‑Surg Detox
Department/Cost Center: 473160580 – Detox Unit
Openings: 1
Shift: See shift details
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekends: Every other weekend and as needed
Call: None
Floating: May float as needed (not routine)

Unit Details

Beds: 13
Patient Ratio: 1:7
Patient Population: Adults to Geriatric (occasional 17‑year‑old patients)
Common Diagnoses:
- Substance abuse & polysubstance withdrawal
- Alcohol withdrawal (ETOH)
- Behavioral health conditions
- Hypertension, syncope, seizures
- Liver disease, cognitive changes
- High fall‑risk patients

Treatment Modalities Include:

CIWA & COWS protocols
Valium tapers
Subutex & Vivitrol
Banana bags
Rescue medications
Routine and home medications

Technology & Equipment

EHR: HMS / MedHost
Equipment: IV pumps, Zoll monitors, IV catheters
