Description

📌 Position Overview – PCU RN (Acute Care / Cardiovascular Focus)

Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac/Critical Care Service Line
Beds: 14 (up to 20 with double occupancy)
Patient Ratio: 1:3–4 (based on acuity)

🏥 Patient Population / Responsibilities

Acute Care RN for:
- Cardiovascular & surgical patients
- Post-op open heart (2–3 days)
- STEMI / NSTEMI
- Cath lab patients (with/without intervention)
Additional cases:
- Chronic vents
- Alcohol withdrawal
- Suicidal ideation
- Renal disease
- BiPAP / CPAP
- Thoracotomies

🛠️ Equipment & Systems

Charting: Cerner EMR
Monitoring: Philips Cardiac Monitors, Telemetry
Devices/Tools:
- Medtronic Pacemakers
- Zoll R Series
- Sigma Spectrum IV Pumps
- Pyxis Med Dispensing
- Welch Allyn Vitals
- Mistral Air Warming Units

✅ Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 1 year PCU experience
Strong EKG/Dysrhythmia interpretation
Experience with:
- IV cardiac meds
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Chest tubes
- Epidurals & PCA pumps
- Transvenous pacing
- Arterial/Venous sheath care & pulling

📜 Certifications & Licensure

Active Arizona RN License
BLS & ACLS (required)

🕒 Schedule

Shifts: 7A–7P or 7P–7A (12-hour shifts)
Weekly: 3 shifts required
Option for 4 shifts/week (at regular rate)
Weekends may be required

🔄 Floating

Preferred: ICU
Required: MS/Telemetry

👕 Dress Code

Navy scrubs
Professional appearance (business-appropriate hair color)
