Job Title: RN (Registered Nurse) – PCU / Stepdown

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a PCU / Stepdown assignment in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry and cardiac care experience, with the ability to care for patients requiring close monitoring and cardiac drip management. This is a night shift position requiring every other weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the PCU / Stepdown unit.
Monitor and assess patients with diagnoses such as cardiac conditions, post cath/pacer cases, pneumonia, COVID, ETOH, and ICU downgrades.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and provide telemetry monitoring.
Administer and monitor cardiac and other titratable drips including insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, dopamine, and dobutamine.
Titrate insulin drips as required by unit protocols.
Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor techs, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EPIC charting system.
Follow hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Float to other units only if skill set allows and with agreement.

Requirements

Active RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
Experience in PCU / Stepdown or similar acute care setting
AHA - BLS,ACLS
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
Every other weekend availability required
Holiday coverage required based on unit needs
