Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant – Hospitalist (Nocturnist) for a locum opportunity in Potsdam, NY. This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient care during night shifts, managing adult patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions. The facility is currently seeking coverage for approximately one week per month due to staffing needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide general medical care to hospitalized adult patients
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of acute conditions
• Conduct admissions and patient assessments
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
• Communicate with patients and their primary care providers
• Manage inpatient rounding, consults, and follow-ups
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding treatment plans

Qualifications:

• Board Certified Physician Assistant (Hospitalist)
• Active New York State License (required, must be in hand)
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospitalist experience
• BLS & ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Clean and updated work history with no significant gaps

Working Hours:

• Night Shifts: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Coverage: Approximately 1 week per month
• No call required
