Description

Position: RN – Maternal/OB Unit (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Level 1 maternal care)
Facility Policies:
- Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas. Refusal to remove will result in contract termination.

Certifications Required

BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience & Skills

Years of Experience: No minimum; must be competent in labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Preferred: NICU experience is a plus.

Staffing & Ratios

Patient Ratios:
- 1:3 for mom-baby couplets
- 1:1 for laboring patients (depending on case)
Charge Nurse: Present each shift and takes an assignment.

Scheduling & Flexibility

Blocked Scheduling: Flexible candidates preferred
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
Floating: Not required; closed unit

Patient Population

Level 1 Maternal Care: Low-risk births
Common Cases: Occasional magnesium sulfate (mag) and gestational diabetes (GDM) patients
Common IV Drips: Insulin, magnesium, Pitocin
IV Pumps: Alaris pumps
