Join Our Team as a Travel/Contract Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse!
Are you a dedicated RN ready to make a difference in vibrant Chicago healthcare? Humboldt Park Health is seeking enthusiastic, adaptable Registered Nurses to provide top-quality care in our Telemetry Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills, gain diverse experience, and enjoy the flexibility of travel contracts in a dynamic hospital environment.
What you'll do:
Provide compassionate nursing care on a 24-bed Telemetry unit, supporting patients with medical and surgical needs. You'll work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every other weekend and holiday rotations. As part of our team, you'll float to Med/Surg units as needed, supporting staff and delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Active Illinois RN License
- AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry
- Proficiency in charting (Meditech experience preferred)
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and interpret strips
- Resilient, adaptable, and capable of managing change
- Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience working as a travel nurse
- Prior experience with cross-unit floating
- Social, team-oriented personality
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- At least one completed travel contract or similar experience in hospital settings
- Knowledge of Meditech charting
Other Requirements:
- COVID-19 booster vaccination (or approved religious/medical declination)
- Ability to float to other units and support Nursing Assistants when necessary
- Valid Drivers License and the last 4 of Social Security for background checks
- Willingness to commit to a 13-week contract starting 4/20 with guaranteed hours of at least 48 per week
