Job Summary: Clinical Nurse I-IV (Night Shift)

Shift & Schedule:

• Nights: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Start: ASAP

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care tailored to the specific age group of the assigned unit. Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and implementing safe, efficient, and high-quality care
• Following unit and hospital standards
• Demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families
• Upholding the mission, philosophy, and goals of the department and organization

Department: Patient Care Services

Reports To: Patient Care Director or Manager

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• BLS Certification

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge and skills relevant to the patient population served
• Understanding of patient rights and sensitive care delivery
• Effective communication tailored to patient age and developmental level

Work Environment

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens (OR, PACU, L&D = C; other patient care areas = B)
• Potential exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays
• Clean, well-lit, ventilated, and smoke-free environment
• Subject to stressful professional relationships
• Flexible work hours due to emergencies or schedule changes

• Ability to handle emergencies and crisis situations
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Heavy lifting and transferring of patients/equipment
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching
• Adequate visual and hearing acuity
• Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination
