Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health | Mids | Texas

We’re hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Behavioral Health assignment in Corpus Christi, TX. This role is ideal for nurses experienced in working with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured, team-based environment.

🩺 Assignment Details

• 24-week contract
• 40 hours/week
• Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Mids)
• Schedule: 5x8s
• Every other weekend required

👩‍⚕️ Patient Population

• Intellectual & developmental disabilities
• Behavioral health patients
• Infirmary + unit-based care

📊 Patient Ratios

• Typically 9–10 patients
• Lower ratios for higher acuity patients
• Infirmary supported by multiple RNs + charge nurse

📚 Orientation

• 2 weeks classroom education
• 2 weeks on-the-job training
• Initial cross-training across multiple units

📋 Requirements

• Active Texas RN License or Compact
• CPR Certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years as an RN
• Must have 1 year of SNF or LTC
• Previous experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Competent in advanced skills such as gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, etc.
• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred
