1. Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to: OR Manager/Administrator.
• Accountable for: Ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth OR operations.

2. Patient Care Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting.
• Uses the nursing process:
  • Assessment – Evaluate patient condition pre-op and post-op.
  • Planning – Develop a care plan tailored to patient needs.
  • Implementation – Execute nursing interventions during surgery and recovery.
  • Evaluation – Monitor outcomes and adjust care as necessary.
• Patient populations include: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, older adults.
• Coordinates care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.

3. Team Coordination & Leadership

• Directs and guides OR technicians and other personnel.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Supports co-workers in quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and unit organization.

4. Compliance & Standards

• Adheres to:
  • Hospital/unit policies and procedures
  • Regulations and professional nursing standards
• Participates in Performance Improvement (PI) activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as needed.

5. Work Schedule

• No on-call duties.
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 06:30–15:30.
