# L&D Beds 10 spacious, private LDRP rooms 2 antepartum rooms 1 OR Suite 2 on-call rooms for Doctors # births 50/month, 600/year Certs BLS, ACLS, NRP (Required) FHM (Preferred) Ratios couplet 1:3, Laboring1:1 FHM System OBIX EMR MediTech Charge Nurse Charge RN 1 Lactation Counselor 1 Unit Secretary/notary 1 Maternity Educator Nurse Aides/OB tech Yes (Ideally Day and Night depending on census) Weekend Requirement Every 3rd weekend (could potentially be every other depending on need) Holidays One major and one minor Scrub Color Hospital provided Tele GE (Centrally Monitored) Vents No OB/Neonatologist in house Anesthesia on call with 20 min response/OB on call IV Team Must have strong IV skills RT 24/7 YES Pharmacy 24/7 On call (9pm) - working to be 24/7 in < 1 year Shifts 6-6 (12hr shifts) C-section experience required Yes (circulate required) Floating NICU (for feeders and growers only) Floor specific orientation 1-2 days Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 32 weeks - otherwise with transfer out, no VBAC, mag sulfate, insulin Additional Notes Mothers labor & deliver in one bed. There is no nursery; newborns stay in bassinets in their mothers' rooms. Babies never leave their mothers' sides. They believe in skin-to-skin care. There is strong team-work in this department. In April 2018 they were honored for their designation as a 'Safe Sleep Champion' by the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS).
