Description
Position Summary
- Role: CVOR Scrub Technologist
- Location: Louisville, KY
- Specialty: Dedicated Cardiac OR (CABG, AAA, Valve Replacements, TAVRs, Heart/Lung Transplants)
- Patient Population: Adult Only
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Hours: 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts)
Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of dedicated CVOR experience required.
- Traveler Experience: No first-time travelers accepted.
- Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).
- Skills: Proficient in scrub duties for CABG, AAA, valve replacements, TAVRs, and heart/lung transplants.
Unit Details & Technology
- Beds/Volumes: Surgical volumes fluctuate.
- Department Support: 1 RN and 1 Tech in all cases.
- EMR: Cerner.
- Technology/Equipment: Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic, OR bed, stretcher.
- Robotics: Davinci D5 (robotic experience is preferred, but not required).
Orientation & Scheduling
- Orientation: NEO (one week) + orientation shifts (3 days 0630-1900, 4 days 0630-1700, or 3 days 1030-2300).
- Scheduling: 6-week scheduling cycle; weekend rotation based on unit needs.
- Call Requirement: Yes, 40-minute response time required.
- Floating: Possible to Vascular OR (to relieve for lunch, if comfortable).
- RTO Approval: Needs Nursing Manager (NM) approval.
