L&D RN (Nights)

• Schedule: 12-hour nights, every other weekend (EOW), first to float
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Facility Type: Level 3 high-risk Labor & Delivery unit

Unit Overview:

• ~250 births/month
• 17 L&D beds, 4 triage beds, 16 postpartum beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections
• AWHONN-based ratios:
  • 2:1 normal labor
  • 1:1 high-risk
  • 4:1 couplet care
  • Antepartum varies by acuity

Role Overview:
L&D RN responsible for managing laboring patients, circulating and recovering C-sections, antepartum care, and postpartum couplet care. Must be comfortable with high-acuity obstetric cases and independent decision-making.

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) required
• Strong experience with vaginal exams, internal monitors, and high-risk labor
• Ability to titrate drips (e.g., Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin, Heparin)
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Details:

• Float to postpartum and other units as needed
• No call/standby
• Every other weekend required
• 3-day unit orientation for travelers
• RNs must read fetal monitor strips independently
