Job Title: Registered Nurse – Surgery (Circulator)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | 40 hours/week (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Surgery (Circulator) to join a dynamic surgical team. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in the operating room, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts, 4 days/week)
• Workdays: Monday – Friday
• Facility Schedule: Closed on weekends and major holidays (except call crew)

On-Call Requirements

• 4–5 on-call shifts per month, including:
  • Weekday call: 3–4 shifts/month (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM; 13.5 hours)
  • Weekend call: 1–2 shifts/month (24-hour shifts; 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• On-call scheduling:
  • Initial scheduling may be assigned based on start date
  • Future months are self-scheduled
  • Shift trades are permitted
• Response Time: 30 minutes required when on call
• Sleep Room: 1 available (first come, first serve for OR/PACU staff)

Scheduling Process

• Draft schedules released on the 5th of each month
• Final schedules confirmed by the 15th for the following month

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the circulating nurse in surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols
• Coordinate surgical workflow and patient care activities
• Communicate effectively with surgical team members
• Document procedures and patient care accurately

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS
• Previous Operating Room / Circulator experience required
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
