 Job Title: CVOR RN (Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse)

• Shift: 4x10 hours (Days, 06:00 AM - 04:30 PM)
• Schedule: 13 contract weeks, guaranteed hours
• Location: Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required
  • Open-heart surgery experience is mandatory
  • Must be able to scrub in CVOR procedures
• Certifications:
  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
• Specialized Skills:
  • Cardiovascular surgeries: CABG, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, MAZE, TAVR, and others
  • Experience with lobe resection, thoracotomy, vascular surgeries, etc.

Additional Requirements:

• Weekend Call: 4 shifts per 6-week schedule (on-call shifts: 2 Friday, 2 Saturday, 2 Sunday, and 4 weekday call shifts)
• No RTO in the first two weeks; up to 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• Licensure:
  • DC license required for DC locations
  • MD license or compact license required for MD locations
• References: Two supervisor references required

Facility Details:

• Patient Age Group: Adults
• Unit Details:
  • 3 operating rooms, daily census of 1-9 patients
  • Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, etc.

Call and Weekend Requirements:

• 2 Friday nights (16:30-07:00), 2 Saturday and 2 Sunday (24-hour shifts), and 4 weekday on-call shifts

• Local Guidelines: Candidates must reside within 60 miles; address must match the driver’s license
• Return Staff Policy: Previous MedStar employment requires a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Submittals: Candidates may be submitted to only one MedStar location at a time
