Job Overview

University of North Carolina Health Care System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join their 4th Floor oncology/hematology unit. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting individuals with complex medical needs.

Position Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
• Shift: Nights
• Unit: 19-bed Adult Oncology/Hematology Unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:4–6

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Administer treatments and monitor oncology/hematology patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical standards
• Promote a safe and supportive care environment

Requirements

• Active RN License – North Carolina
• BLS Certification (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS & CPI-A (preferred/required per unit)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Pay Range: $33.00 – $54.45/hr
• Shift Differentials:
  • Evening: +$3.30/hr
  • Night: +$6.00/hr
  • Weekend: +$10.00/hr
  • Holiday: +50% of base rate
• Specialty Differential: +$2.00/hr (applicable units)
• Relocation Bonus: Up to $10,000 (based on distance)
