Job Summary (RN – Acute Inpatient)

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient- and family-centered care to a group of patients. The RN ensures high-quality clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and adherence to evidence-based practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient needs
• Educating patients and families throughout care and discharge
• Supervising and delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff
• Supporting unit financial stability and quality improvement initiatives
• Mentoring/precepting staff and promoting professional development
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards

Weekly Hours Breakdown

• Shift: Days
• Timing: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Shift Duration: 12.5 hours (includes break)
• Shifts per Week: 3 shifts
• Total Weekly Hours: ~36–37.5 hours/week

Schedule Details

• Every other weekend required
• Typical schedule: 3x12s (day shifts)

Requirements

• Certifications: BLS, NIH
• Experience: 2+ years RN acute inpatient
• EMR: Epic experience required
• License: Indiana (IN) RN license at submission
