Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under the direction of a physician.

This role is responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort. The technologist collaborates closely with physicians and healthcare teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols
Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely
Operate nuclear imaging equipment (gamma cameras, PET/CT as applicable)
Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures
Ensure radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality diagnostic results
Educate patients on procedures and provide compassionate care

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program

Certifications / Licensure

ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) – Required
Texas Medical Board (MRT) License – Required
BLS Certification – Required within 30 days of hire

Experience

Hospital-based nuclear medicine experience preferred
