Position Requirements (Must Meet All)

• Previous travel experience is required.
• Active Alaska (AK) RN license must be in hand (no pending licenses. accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of LTC (Long-Term Care) experience required.
• First-time travelers are not accepted.
• BLS certification required.
• Must be willing to float within scope based on facility needs.
• Must comply with RTO policy:
  • Maximum 2 weeks RTO for a 26-week contract
  • Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • All RTO must be submitted at the time of submission (no exceptions after offer/contract)

Assignment Details

• Duration: Traveler’s choice – 13 or 26 weeks
• Shift Options:
  • 4x12 Variable or 3x12 Variable (traveler’s choice)
  • Shifts will be Days or Nights (no routine rotation; rare exceptions for urgent needs)
• Patient Ratio: 1:20
• On-Call: Not required
• Block Scheduling: Not available
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks
  • Facility may call off 1 shift (12 hours) per 2 weeks

Additional Requirements

• Alaska Food Worker Certification (Mandatory):
  • Completed on-site during orientation
  • $10 one-time fee (paid by clinician)
• Local Policy:
  • Local candidates not accepted (must live 50+ miles away)

Traveler Vehicle Policy

• Vehicle provided by facility (facility-owned or rental)
• Available up to 72 hours before start and up to 24 hours after end
• Only traveler may operate the vehicle
• Must provide:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of personal insurance (must include rental coverage)
• Usage restrictions:
  • For local travel only (“around town”)
  • Must remain within 30-mile radius
  • No off-road use
• Vehicle must be:
  • Returned clean and with a full tank
• If taking time off during contract:
  • Vehicle must be returned and reissued upon return
• Tire chains available at additional cost (paid by traveler)
