Travel RN – Stepdown (CVU/Progressive Care Unit)
Location: McLaren Northern Michigan – Petoskey, MI
Start Date: 4/20/2026
End Date: 6/15/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Days, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
Schedule: Every other weekend
On-Call: Possible
Openings: 1

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Stepdown RN to join the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), caring for a high-acuity cardiac population. The unit manages over 4,000 cardiology patients annually and supports advanced procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Nurses also care for open heart patients (18–24 hours post-op), CHF patients, and electrophysiology cases.

This is a high-performing unit recognized with the AACN Beacon Award and part of a Top 50 Heart Hospital system.

Requirements

1+ year of Stepdown experience (required)
Strong cardiac proficiency (required)
Travel experience (required)
EKG interpretation skills (required)
Willingness to float to similar units (required)
Active Michigan RN license (required)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Additional Details

Skills checklist (within 1 year) required
Must provide Michigan license verification (LARA + Nursys)
Former McLaren employees must be separated for at least 6 months

Days and Nights available! Strict attendance policy: 3 call-offs or late arrivals (>20 minutes) may result in termination
