Required Certifications
ACLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
✅ Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years L&D experience (post-training)
- Minimum 3 travel assignments (NO first-time travelers)
- 3–5 years total travel experience required
- Experience with:
- LDRP (required on resume) ⚠️
- Mother/Baby Couplet Care (MBC)
- Comfortable with:
- Epic charting
- OR circulating
- Scrubbing (REQUIRED for night shift)
OT After 40 – CHOMP LDRP Unit Notes
🚭 Facility Requirement
- CHOMP is a smoke-free facility
- Nicotine/cotinine must be negative
- If positive:
- Only accepted with valid prescription (e.g., nicotine patch)
- Otherwise → contract cancellation
📌 Submission Requirements (MANDATORY)
Include with every submission:
- Epic experience (Yes/No + last used date)
- Candidate email address
- Interview availability
- All RTO upfront
- ❗ No RTO accepted after submission

🏥 Unit Overview
- Unit Type: LDRP / Family Birthing Center
- Beds: 13 total (L&D, PP, Recovery combined)
- Volume:
- ~100–105 births/month
- Level:
- Level 1 (≥32 weeks)
- High-risk cases transferred out

- Must be strong in:
- Labor & Delivery
- Postpartum
- Recovery
- Must handle:
- Full labor process (no midwives/midlevels)
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
💉 Drips & Skills
- RNs titrate drips
- Common drips:
- Magnesium
- Pitocin
- Insulin
🧑⚕️ Staffing & Support
- Charge nurse:
- Usually no patient assignment
- May have:
- Admit/Triage/Resource nurse
- ❗ No nurse aides or surgical techs
👶 Provider Coverage
- Neonatologist:
- On call (~30 min response)
- OB Hospitalist:
- In-house ~85% of time
- Otherwise on-call (~30 min)
