Location: Scotland Memorial Hospital
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8s (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a 13-week contract at an acute care hospital setting. This role offers a balanced caseload with 50% inpatient and 50% outpatient responsibilities. First-time travelers are welcome, and training is available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Perform patient evaluations, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Patient Population

• Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Orthopedic, Neurological (stroke, Parkinson’s, MS), Cardiac, and Post-surgical patients
• Chronic conditions including COPD and general debility/falls

Schedule & Productivity

• Inpatient Productivity: 65%
• Outpatient Caseload: ~8 patients per day (1-hour sessions)
• No weekends or holidays required

Requirements

• Active North Carolina PT License (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred (flexible; strong candidates with less may be considered)
• Experience in acute care strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Community hospital experience is a plus

Preferred Clinical Experience

• Cardiopulmonary (CHF, COPD, CABG, MI)
• Orthopedics (joint replacements, fractures, spinal conditions)
• Neurology (stroke rehab, Parkinson’s, TBI)
• Geriatrics

Facility & Support

• Strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Bi-weekly orientation (Monday start)
• No specific scrub color required

Additional Details

• Local Radius Rule: 50 miles (locals accepted at a reduced rate)
• Floating within hospital may be required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Block scheduling not available
