Description
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs in vivo diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care. This role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating specialized imaging equipment, and maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety standards and departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals via injection, ingestion, or inhalation under the indirect supervision of a board-certified radiologist
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner while ensuring proper patient identification
- Operate radiation detection, calibration, and imaging equipment safely and effectively
- Position and immobilize patients as necessary to obtain optimal imaging results
- Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self
- Evaluate diagnostic images for technical quality and accuracy
- Provide for the physical and psychological comfort of patients during examinations and treatments
- Maintain aseptic technique when required
- Accurately document procedures, technical factors, imaging data, and quality assurance activities
- Perform routine quality control checks on equipment and procedures
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and radiation safety practices

This position requires working in a clinical or hospital setting, following established medical imaging department protocols and safety regulations while delivering high-quality patient care.
Required Certs: BLS, Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) Verification, Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Verification
