Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of LTC RN experience
• Previous travel experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted

Licensure:

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required (must be in hand)
• Pending licenses not accepted

Certifications:

• BLS required

Additional Requirement:

• Alaska Food Worker Certification (required)
  • Completed on-site during orientation
  • $10 one-time fee
  • Not required prior to start

Skills:

• LTC experience required

Schedule & Contract

• Shift Options:
  • 4x12 variable OR 3x12 variable (traveler’s choice)
• Shift Type:
  • Days or Nights (no regular rotation)
  • Occasional rotation only for urgent staffing needs
  • Final assignment based on facility needs
• Duration:
  • 13 or 26 weeks (traveler’s choice)
• Patient Ratio:
  • 1:20

Work Expectations

• On-Call: Not required
• Floating: Required within scope
• Block Scheduling: Not available

Holiday Requirement:

• Must work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays:
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Year
• Preference for candidates open to working all holidays

Additional Guidelines

• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live 50+ miles from facility)
• RTO (Requested Time Off):
  • Max 2 weeks for 26-week contract
  • Must be submitted with application
  • Not accepted after offer or contract signing
• Guaranteed Hours:
  • 60 hours per 2 weeks
  • Facility may cancel 1 (12-hour) shift per 2 weeks

Traveler Vehicle Benefit

A vehicle will be provided for use during the assignment.

Key Details:

• Available 72 hours before start to 24 hours after end
• Must provide:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of insurance (including rental coverage)

Usage Rules:

• Only traveler may operate the vehicle
• Limited to within 30-mile radius
• No off-road use

Additional Notes:

• Vehicle must be returned clean with a full tank
• Must be returned during any time off (new vehicle issued upon return)
• Tire chains available at additional cost
