The LDRP Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of obstetrics, including labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. This role requires the ability to function independently in a rural critical access hospital setting while delivering safe, high-quality care to mothers and newborns.

🔹 Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) settings
Assess, monitor, and manage maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
Perform fetal monitoring interpretation (EFM) and recognize emergent conditions
Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections (receiving and stabilizing newborns)
Deliver postpartum care for mother and newborn, including education and discharge planning
Provide care for well-baby nursery and stabilization of sick newborns prior to transport
Administer and monitor IV medications and titratable drips (e.g., Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antibiotics)
Respond to and manage obstetric and neonatal emergencies in a timely manner
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams, including off-site providers
Prepare patients for transfer to higher level of care when necessary
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
Adhere to AWHONN guidelines and facility policies for patient care and safety
