Description
Shift
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- 3 nights/week (36 hours total)
- Duration: 13-week assignment
- Weekend and holiday coverage required (TBD)
- On-call as needed (TBD)
- Non-billable orientation: 8 hours
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized respiratory care in ICU, ED, and general medical/surgical floors
- Administer medications per physician orders; monitor and report adverse reactions
- Perform therapies: ventilator management, nebulizers, inhalers, and floor treatments
- Respond to codes, rapid response teams, emergencies, and patient transports
- Draw and analyze arterial, venous, cord, and capillary blood gases
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of all respiratory equipment
- Document patient interactions and bill for services rendered
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, allied staff, patients, and families
- Follow hospital protocols for quality assurance and equipment maintenance
- Work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in all cardiopulmonary services
Experience with: ventilators, ICU, ED, blood gases, floor therapies, nebulizers, and inhalers
Must be able to work independently on shift
EPIC EMR experience required
Must have own vehicle for the assignment
Education
Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy school
Certifications
RRT through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association)
Proof of immunizations/shots as required by hospital policy
Licensing
New Hampshire state license required (Compact license allowed)
