Position Overview

Manistee Hospital is seeking a skilled and adaptable Telemetry RN to join its Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a rural hospital setting. This role is ideal for a nurse who is comfortable working across varying patient acuity levels and thrives in a flexible, team-oriented environment.

The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while monitoring cardiac rhythms and supporting patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• On-Call: Not required

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms accurately
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
• Manage patients with varying acuity levels in a rural hospital setting
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Provide patient and family education
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed

Patient Population & Unit Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with acuity-adaptable patient care
• Exposure to a wide variety of medical and surgical cases
• Rural hospital setting requiring flexibility and independence

Preferred Experience

• Critical care or stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Experience with:
  • Ventilators
  • Titrating IV drips
• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience
• Proven ability to interpret cardiac rhythms

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

• Scrub color: No specific requirement
• No on-call requirement
