Job Type: Full-Time (36 Hours/Week)
Schedule: Rotational Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays + 2 On-Call Shifts in 4 Weeks

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The Registered Nurse applies nursing knowledge, clinical expertise, and communication skills to deliver high-quality patient care. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, develops individualized care plans, and supports patients and families throughout hospitalization and discharge.

This position involves caring for adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations admitted with medical conditions while promoting patient comfort, healing, and education.

Responsibilities

Patient Care & Assessment

• Assess patient and family needs through observation, communication, and clinical evaluation
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
• Deliver direct patient care using evidence-based practices

Patient Advocacy & Safety

• Promote patient health, safety, and rights
• Maintain infection prevention standards
• Encourage collaboration and teamwork for optimal patient outcomes

Patient & Family Education

• Educate patients and families regarding care after discharge
• Assess learning styles and provide appropriate education tools
• Document education and patient/family understanding
• Promote lifestyle changes to support recovery and long-term health

Professional Development & Quality Improvement

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional growth
• Apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Clinical Skills

• Medication administration
• Care coordination
• Documentation and patient monitoring
• Emotional support and patient comfort

Requirements

Licensure & Certifications (Required)

• New York State RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA or RQI Only)
• ACLS Certification (AHA or RQI Only)
• NIHSS Certification

Experience

• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg RN experience required
• Experience caring for adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations preferred

Schedule

• Full Time: 36 hours per week
• Rotational Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays
• 2 On-Call shifts every 4 weeks
