Description
Cytotechnologist (CT) – Travel or Local
Contract: 13 weeks (extension likely)
Start: ASAP
Schedule: Days | M–F | No weekends
Hours: 40 hrs/week
Interview: Phone screen
Requirements
- 2+ yrs cytology experience
- Bachelor’s degree (science-related)
- Completed accredited cytology training program
- CT (ASCP) required
- Strong microscopy, slide prep, and screening skills
Key Responsibilities
- Process and screen cytology specimens
- Identify abnormal findings requiring pathologist review
- Prepare and present findings clearly to pathologist
- Perform QC and correlate cyto vs histology results
- Assist with histology tasks as needed
- Support FNA slide prep during procedures (CT, US, IR)
Work Environment
- Hospital cytology lab
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous materials
- Frequent standing/sitting; manual dexterity and visual acuity required
