About the Facility
Del Sol Medical Center is a 350‑bed acute care hospital serving a diverse adult and geriatric population. The Nutrition Services department includes 4 full‑time Registered Dietitians, with two additional full‑time positions currently open. The team collaborates closely with physicians, nursing, speech therapy, diabetes educators, case management, and other clinical partners.

Role Overview
The Clinical Dietitian provides comprehensive nutrition assessment and care for adult and geriatric patients across the facility. Average caseload is 10–15 patients per day. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
Call Requirements: None
Weekend Coverage: As needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nutrition assessments and nutrition‑focused physical exams
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
- Communicate recommendations to providers using iMobile and EMR tools
- Support wound care initiatives (automatic nutrition consults triggered by wound care orders)
- Modify oral supplements, diet orders, and enteral nutrition orders within RD scope
- Provide coverage across the facility as needed
Required Skills & Experience
Must‑Have
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Texas Licensed Dietitian (LD)
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations
- Critical care experience
- Strong interdisciplinary communication skills
Preferred
- NICU experience (to support NICU RD during PTO)
