Cath Lab RN / Tech – Job Summary

Start Date: ASAP
Facility Setup:

• 2 Cath Labs
• 2 Hybrid Peripheral / OR Rooms

Weekly Hours & Schedule

• Shift: 10-hour shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Typical Schedule: 4 shifts/week
• Orientation: 4 days (10-hour shifts)

On-Call Requirements:

• 1–2 days per week: 4:30 PM – 6:00 AM
• Every 4th weekend: Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 6:00 AM

Weekend Rotation: Every 4th weekend
Holiday: Possibly 1 per assignment

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• Must have strong experience in:
  • Coronary cases
  • Structural heart procedures
  • Complex PCI
  • Peripheral cases

✔ First-time travelers accepted if highly experienced.

Patient Ratio: RN 1:1

Required Certifications

RN:

• BLS
• ACLS

Cath Lab Tech:

• BLS
• ACLS
• RT / RCIS or equivalent

Skills Required

RN Skills:

• Critical patient assessment
• Vasoactive & sedation medication administration
• Sterile technique
• Airway management
• Laser & Lithotripsy Atherectomy
• Cath Lab & Peripheral IV skills

Devices Used:

• IABP
• Impella
• Rotoblator
• Penumbra

Tech Skills:

• Table panning & movement
• Arrhythmia recognition
• Coronary, PCI & peripheral case support

Facility Details

• Charting System: EPIC (required)
• Epic Cupid: Preferred
• Equipment: Alaris, Omnicell

Floating: No (IR and Cath Lab are separate departments)

Unit Support

• Charge Nurse: Mon–Fri (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• CNA: N/A
• Phlebotomy: N/A
• IV/VAT Team: N/A
