Job Title: Radiation Therapist – Radiation Oncology (CC)

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts (Start time: 8:00 AM)

Job Summary

Administers ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from physicians. Ensures patient safety, accurate treatment delivery, and adherence to all radiation safety protocols.

Education (Preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
Master’s Degree
Experience (Preferred)
Experience in Radiologic Technology

Required Licenses & Certifications
ARRT – Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT)
Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT)

Preferred Certifications
BLS / CPR (BLS, HS-BLS, or RQI BLS)
Fluoroscopy Permit (State Department of Health Services)

Key Responsibilities
Deliver prescribed radiation therapy after verifying prescription, diagnosis, and patient identity
Explain procedures and communication methods to patients prior to treatment
Prepare treatment room and equipment, including immobilization devices
Position and transfer patients safely onto treatment equipment
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report complications to physicians and supervisors
Maintain accurate treatment records and review patient charts regularly
Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards for patients and staff
Provide clinical supervision and evaluate students’ procedural skills
Perform additional duties as assigned
