📍 Unit: IMC / Stepdown (6N)
🛏 Beds: 28
📅 Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week (3 × 12-hour shifts)

🩺 Patient Ratios

• Days / Evenings: 1:5
• Nights: 1:5–7 (average 6, must be comfortable with 7)

🧾 Common Diagnoses / Patient Types

Up to 75% cardiac patients, including:

• Pre/Post Cath
• Pre CABG
• Chest Pain
• NSTEMI

Other conditions:

• CHF
• COPD
• Pneumonia
• Diabetes
• Dialysis
• Altered Mental Status
• Nephrology / Hematology cases
• Wounds
• Stroke overflow patients

✅ Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year: Telemetry / IMC / Stepdown RN
• Strong cardiac experience required
• Drip experience required
• Previous travel RN experience preferred

💉 Drip Management

RN titration required

Common drips:

• Insulin
• Heparin
• Nitro
• Diltiazem
• Lasix

📡 Telemetry

• 24/7 monitoring by Tele Techs (located off unit)
• Nurses have unit monitor access to check rhythms

👩‍⚕️ Support Staff

• Charge Nurse: Has limited patient assignment
• Nurse Aides Ratio:
  • Days/PM: 1:9
  • Nights: 1:14

🫁 Respiratory Equipment

• Continuous CPAP / BiPAP
• High Flow
• Vapotherm
• Nebulizers
• Chest PT
• No ventilators

⏰ Shift Options

12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)

• 07:00 – 19:00
• 11:00 – 23:00
• 19:00 – 07:00

Block scheduling may be accommodated but not guaranteed.

📆 Scheduling Requirements

• Weekend: Every other weekend (Fri–Sun)
• Holiday: Every other holiday
• On Call: Not required for agency staff

Staff may occasionally be low-census (LC) or reallocated in 4-hour blocks.

🔄 Floating

May float to:

• Other Med/Surg floors
• Possible 1:1 observer assignments
• Other specialty units if experienced

👕 Dress Code

• Any color scrubs (clean & professional)

🏥 Orientation

• 2 shifts total:
  • 1 × 12 hr off-unit
  • 1 × 12 hr on-unit
